"We're Here for You"

Welcome to Grace Episcopal Church,

City Island (The Bronx), New York!

For over 150 years, Grace Church has provided a spiritual home and "shelter from the storm" for all sorts and conditions of people: local residents and passing wayfarers; families and individuals; young people and seniors; life-long Christians, and those just beginning to explore a relationship with our Lord.  In short, there is a place for you.  If you have never visited Grace before, or if  it has been a long time since you worshipped with us, we encourage you to come visit soon.  We are a warm, growing Christian community, and we would be delighted to count you among our number.

As an Episcopal Church and a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, we strive to offer a "middle way" between the Protestant and Roman Catholic traditions.  Followers of Jesus Christ, we honor both Word and Sacrament, immersing ourselves in Holy Scripture each week before gathering at the Lord's Table to be fed by Holy Communion.  Together we celebrate Communion (the Eucharist) every Sunday at 10 AM, and we invite you to join us at any time.  We also gather at 7PM every Monday for Evening Prayer, a lovely short service for the end of the day and Morning Prayer on Wednesday at 10:00 AM  to which you are warmly welcomed, as well.

I hope that you will take a few moments to navigate the pages of this website and get to know us better.

Perhaps you are "just passing through," or maybe you are looking for a permanent spiritual home:  Whoever you are, and wherever you are on your journey of faith, know that you are most welcome here.  Come and see for yourself!

Faithfully,

The Rev. Patricia Phaneuf Alexander
